Mentorship

One of the most meaningful parts of being a researcher is the guidance and opportunities I can provide to others through both field and lab experiences with hands on learning. The help I receive from all of the skilled technicians, volunteers, and students who have worked with me is invaluable to the success of our work. "No matter what accomplishments you make, somebody helped you." —Althea Gibson
Special thanks to everyone who helps make all of this research possible.

Faculty Mentor at Truckee Meadows Community College

In addition to mentoring students in my classes and through research endeavours, I am also a Faculty Mentor for first semester part-time students at Truckee Meadows Community College. The aim of this program is to increase retention and success of students through face-to-face meetings. As a mentor, I am able to hear students concerns, recommend tips for academic success, and connect them to campus resources like free tutoring.
