l am an ecologist, educator, and advocate for student empowerment. Currently, I am working towards completion of my PhD in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology at the University of Nevada, Reno (2021). My work is a delicate balance between research and course instruction and when I am done with my degree I aim to have a faculty position where my focus is mainly working with students. My research then can be a tool for increasing scientific understanding and passion for impactful work in undergraduate scientists. The topics I am most interested in are
  • Novel acoustic methodologies for studying wildlife community ecology
  • Faunal responses to vegetation alterations especially from conifer removal projects
  • Impacts of mammalian disease and predation on faunal communities in talus habitats
With these questions, it is my hope to inform and influence the scientific basis of best management practices.
Please take a look at my current lab group at UNR and my previous lab for my M.S. at Michigan State University.
